Jesus Bridged the Gap

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Ephesians 2:13 (NIV)

Before we were accepted by Jesus Christ and born again into God's family, we did not have access to God's grace and forgiveness. We were hopeless. We were sinners and condemned to be separated from God because of our sinfulness. God had to send his only son to die for us, so that we could have access to Him. So now, through the blood of Christ, all restrictions on approaching God have been lifted. We come directly to God without any restrictions or fear.

Paul reminded us that we were unclean before the Lord and are now saved by grace alone in Christ.

Sometimes we Christians live as if we need to make ourselves “Good Enough” so that Jesus can complete His work in us. But, Jesus' work began on the cross while we were still far from Him. When sin created an unbridgeable chasm between us and God, the blood of Jesus bridged the gap. Remember, it is impossible to build half a bridge, so in your walk with God you must depend entirely on the work of Jesus to receive salvation.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
