I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols.
Isaiah 42:8 (NIV)
None of us deserve God's love. Yet He chose, in His love for us, to impute the righteousness of Christ to us, imputing to Him the consequences of our sins. The fact that Adam's sin separated us from God, He had no reason to love us, to continue to care for us, to save us and to sanctify us. But instead of entering into judgment with us, He preferred to enter into a relationship with us. Isn't it wonderful.
You are probably wondering why God loves you so much or what He has to gain from it. The answer is simple: His glory. God lacks nothing, He doesn't need us to satisfy whatever pleases Him. He is satisfied by Himself. If He created us it is for His good pleasure and for His glory. Our goal is to worship Him and give Him glory for who He is.
He is God, He is our creator, He is the one who guides us and who controls our life. He holds the universe in His hands. One of the reasons you should always be grateful and give glory to God is because He loved you and chose you to be the instrument of His glory. If He does not share His glory with others, nor His honor with idols, then give Him the glory and honor due to Him.
May the grace of God be upon you.
