My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of His correction: For whom the Lord loveth He correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
Proverbs 3:11-12 (KJV)
No one wants to be chastised or corrected whatever their mistake. Often, when we sin against God, for fear of chastening, we prefer not to openly confess our sin. If the consequences still cause us to do it, we choose to ask forgiveness for general sins, without mentioning the sin in question.
Indeed, you must remember that even if God forgives you for your sin, you will still suffer the consequences, which is not God's chastening. It's more of a cause and effect relationship. God's chastening is like the correction that a father gives out of love to his son, not to punish him but to lead him to become mature in his actions and decisions.
If you want to avoid God's correction, you must learn to walk in obedience to His word. And, if God chastises you, know that it is not because He does not love you or that you no longer matter to Him, but rather because you are important in His eyes. Even if it's hard, always be happy to be chastised by God because He only does it for the one He loves.
May the grace and the peace of God be with you all.
