The Lord Will Hear

As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me.

Micah 7:7 (NLT)

I'm not a fan of any type of sport, but I enjoy watching those who are fans. They are always ready to collapse in despair when their team is about to lose, especially when the points difference is large. They lose hope and begin to justify the cause of their team's failure to console themselves. After a catastrophic failure of their favorite team, some turn to another team while others continue to believe that next time it will be different.

This situation illustrates Micah's situation very well, but in a different situation. Despite Israel's apostasy, Micah remains convinced that all is not over, that his God will not abandon him. He did not seek refuge in another God for comfort, he did not doubt for a single moment, but he chose to put his hope in the Lord and wait for His intervention. Unlike the fanatics in our illustration who turned to another team, Micah kept faith in His God who never loses.

Does your current situation present you with an alternative that makes you lose hope? So let me tell you that you serve a God who cannot lose. He hears your prayers and He will save you. Like Micah, by faith, put your hope in God because He will hear you and never let you down. It is not His practice to abandon one's children.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
