A Restoration Plan

Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, so the Lord delivered them into the hands of the Philistines for forty years.

Judges 13:1 (NIV)

You are probably wondering why God lets you go through difficult times in your life and why He chastises you if He loves you as the Bible describes. You are not alone in asking yourself these kinds of questions, we all wonder about the reasons for what happens in our lives whether it is the consequences of our sins or the trials that help us grow in faith and knowledge of God.

The Bible teaches us that all things work together for good to those who love God. This means that the consequences of our sins will always remind us not to succumb to the temptation of the enemy, and trials will help us to always trust God. Take the example of the children of Israel, their situation was much harder and humiliating, because of their disobedience, God delivered them into the hands of their enemy to punish them in His place. Yet, He had not abandoned them.

Your situation has always been a common fact in the lives of those who serve God throughout history. Disobedience to God has always led to punishment that was meant to remind us of God’s love and His desire to sanctify us. Even when God punishes you, He does not abandon you; He always has a plan of restoration and regeneration for you. However, He expects you to acknowledge your fault and return to Him. Do not let the consequences of your sins alienate you from God; He wants to restore you and reconcile you to Himself.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
