He must have a strong belief in the trustworthy message he was taught; then he will be able to encourage others with wholesome teaching and show those who oppose it where they are wrong.
Titus 1:9 (NLT)
Although this book is one of the pastoral epistles, I often use it to teach any Christian in a leadership position. I also use it for spiritually mature Christians to help them understand the responsibility given to them to guide and teach the weak. At one level or another, each of us has our spiritual weaknesses or limitations. Which means that we all need something stronger spiritually to help us move forward in faith and in the knowledge of God's will.
As a Christian, you have the responsibility to help the weak, either in the teaching of the word, in spiritual accompaniment, or in prayer. Jesus' mission is not only for leaders but for all who believe in Him. To accomplish this task, one must cling to the word as it was taught, meditating on it day and night. It is this knowledge that will enable you not only to encourage others but also to refute any wrong teaching coming from false teachers.
Just as Paul did for Timothy, for Titus and for so many others, I encourage you to never stray from the word but to be faithful at all times because the adversary never sleeps. He waits until you are not on your guard to make you fall and degrade you before the throne of God.
May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
