Not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Hebrews 10:25 (NASB1995)
God created us in a wonderful way, each with our own personality, character traits, strengths, and weaknesses. He loves us just as we are. He knows where we will stumble and where we will rise again. He also knows how we will interact with one another, who will support others, and who will struggle to do so because of their personality. He has taken all these details into account, overlooking nothing. Because He knows our differences so well, He has given us His Word to teach us, despite our differences, how to live in harmony with one another.
This is why the Bible becomes an essential element in the life of the believer. Although we are different in our personalities and characters, it helps us to understand and support one another. Often, when disagreements arise in our congregations, instead of turning to God's Word to guide us in conflict resolution and reconciliation, we choose to react emotionally, which is a result of our personality and character traits. We leave our congregation. We all believe that joining another congregation will solve the problem we had in the one we left.
What we don't understand is that our personality won't change; we won't be any different in the other congregation. The members of this new congregation won't adapt to us any better without the guidance of God's Word. This is why the author of the Epistle to the Hebrews encourages us not to abandon our congregation, but to support and encourage one another. This is the proof of true love among believers. If you have a disagreement with your brother or sister in the faith, don't run away from your congregation, but sit down with him or her and find a solution in the light of God's Word.
May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
