In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Romans 6:11 (NIV)
Some of us always find themselve in a situation to say, “But I still commit sins. Doesn't that make me a sinner?" It is important for us to grasp the reality of sin in our life as believers. It allows us to understand what Christ has done for us on the cross by grace, not by our good behavior. You need also to understand that your Christian identity is not determined by what you do, but by who you are in the sight of God. When we get this truth, we should not think as the world thinks, that their identity is based on their behavior or on their good deeds.
The word tells us: "Through Jesus Christ alone we are made 'ALIVE UNTO GOD.' If we are dead to sin, then it will lose its power over us. If we are alive to God, we will respond to His call with love in obedience to His Word and His Spirit.
So let's start embracing who we are in Christ, starting to seek a relationship with God the Father, because through Him we have hope, for He gives us the power to resist temptation and to avoid living a life of sin.
May God bless you all!
