Compassionate and generous God, we lift up to Your mercy the poverty and misery that reign in this world. It is like a moral and social wound in the soul of those affected by this bitter economic situation. In Your grace and goodness, we ask You, Lord, to intervene to relieve their suffering and pain, especially those in third world countries.
Hear their cries and provide for their needs. Change our hearts, O Lord, that we can see them as you see them in their immense dignity because we know that You care for them as You do for others.
