He remembers His covenant forever, the promise He made, for a thousand generations.
Psalm 105:8 (NIV)
When I was a little boy, I knew an old man in my neighborhood who, every morning, always said the same thing to those who greeted him. He would smile and say, "Each day brings new grace and new hope." As a child, I never understood what he meant, or what it really meant. One Sunday morning, as we were passing his house on our way to church, he called out to my mother and said, "God will remember this day and will not break His promises."
As children, we often understand what adults tell us, but we don't always grasp their true meaning because we don't think like them. It wasn't until I grew older that I truly understood this old man's message. When God makes a promise, He always keeps it, because He is a God who is faithful to His word. Your situation probably tells you otherwise, because you don't see a way out. There is always a situation in our lives that makes us doubt. But when we know God's actions, we have no doubt about His faithfulness to us.
God sees you exactly where you are. He knows what you are thinking and the reasons that may lead you to doubt. If He doesn't intervene immediately, it's not because He doesn't remember you; rather, it's because He trusts you enough, as He did Job in his misery. Knowing our limitations, God also knows how to trust our faith. Trust that He will act at the right time, for He knows that difficult times also nourish our faith and strengthen our confidence.
May God's grace and peace be with you all.
