A Peaceful Sleep

When you lie down, you will not be afraid; When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
Proverbs 3:24 (NASB)
I often hear elderly people say that life gives nothing for free. It offers only fear and suffering. You may sometimes feel like you are among those to whom it gives nothing and who struggle to survive. Do you know that you can stop fighting against life? God has promised to take care of those He loves, those He has chosen according to His purpose. The more you struggle against life, the more difficult it will seem. But if you trust in God and entrust all your worries to Him, you will finally be able to breathe in peace.
This is a sure promise that Jesus Christ Himself made to us when He said that His burden would be light. Sometimes, when you no longer know who to turn to, entrust to God the burden that you can no longer carry alone. He will take it for you and grant you rest. Sometimes, we want things to happen so quickly that we ignore God's promises. God's timing is not a sign of failure; rather, it is proof that He has a greater plan for you than the one you are pursuing.
When you trust in God, your sleep will become sweeter and more peaceful. Remember what David said despite the attacks of his enemies: "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety." Just like David, you too can have this assurance of sleeping at night without fearing tomorrow. God sees your struggle, He knows your doubts, and He is only waiting for you to entrust them to Him. All He desires is for you to entrust your problems to Him and to sleep in peace.
May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
