A Presence That Brings Peace

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 (HCSB)

Who wouldn’t rejoice in receiving good news and celebrating it? Nobody! When we receive good news, sometimes the joy that invades us takes over our emotions to the point of making us cry with joy. The holiday season is a time of rejoicing and celebration for everyone. But, we don’t all have the same reasons to celebrate. If for some it’s love, for others it’s family reunions. For Christians it’s the coming of their savior.

No document can clearly prove that Jesus was born on December 25, but celebrating his birth during the Christmas period is rather a symbolic celebration of His presence among us. If he came it is to reconcile us with God and ensure our salvation. Our whole life depends on Him.

Do you know what you are celebrating? If for you it’s Christmas, it’s time to change your perspective and fix your gaze on the Christ who came among men. He lived our life, knew our sufferings to better represent us to God. The joy of His presence brings peace and hope. Rejoice in Him, for from Him comes your salvation.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
