A Radical Change

Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,

1 Peter 2:1-2 (NKJV)

One who comes to Jesus must be willing to lay aside all old bad habits and attitudes. Many people have made this choice but continue to believe that it is difficult for them to break their bad habit, saying that it is ingrained in them. Let's see what the Bible tells us about this: "Old things have passed away, and behold, all things have become new." If you don't notice this change in yourself at the time of conversion, it means there is a problem somewhere.

Every authentic conversion brings about a radical spiritual change in our person. This is why Christ gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit to bring about this change in us. In other words, to help us make that change. It's not something you can do yourself. You will need to (1) renew your mind through Bible study and (2) seek the help of the Holy Spirit in prayer. It is an obligation for every Christian to renounce everything that can prevent him from leading a spiritual life.

When Paul tells us to desire spiritual and pure milk, he invites us to spend time on the word. This is the only way for us to grow in the knowledge of God and cast off all the bad things that cause us to live like the world. Make sure every word that comes out of your mouth is a source of comfort to others. Any attitude be an example for those who look at you. So be an example like Jesus Christ.
