For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears turned to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against evildoers.
1 Peter 3:12 (NABRE)
While participating in a singing competition for children aged 11 to 13, I witnessed an extraordinary vocal challenge. Despite their age, the children gave their all to win the trophy. What was interesting about this competition was the motivation of these children. They all had the same goal, to make their parents proud of them.
Seeing her child give his all to be the best, a mother was filled with joy and satisfaction. For her, winning the trophy was not important, the source of her happiness was seeing her son perform and be cheered by all the other parents who were in the room. I saw in her eyes that there was much more than a trophy, she had love in her heart for this little 11-year-old boy who caught the attention of everyone present that day. She shouted with joy: "He's my son, he's my pride." Tears were streaming from her eyes, her son was the center of her attention.
Thinking about this mother’s attitude, I immediately thought of the love God has for His children. He loves each of us unconditionally. As much as this mother may love her son, she will never reach the immensity of the love God has for us. With each of our steps, He watches us, He assists us and protects us from danger. He does not tell us what He does, but in His silence, He does much more than we can imagine. Even if life seems difficult to live, even if circumstances and obstacles seem inevitable, remember that God will always be there for you; it is not by chance, it is rather out of love for you.
May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
