Attitude vs Habit

Pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 (NKJV)

When you do something frequently, alone or with someone else, it becomes a habit. You can even do it without realizing it because it's a habit with you. On the other hand, an attitude is a voluntary disposition, a way of behaving and doing things.

Considering these two on a spiritual basis, do you have a prayerful habit or prayerful attitude? Because the one who has the habit generally prays in the morning and/or the evening, while the one who has the attitude prays at all times and in all circumstances. Every situation in his life is an opportunity for him to speak to God, to seek his direction. This is what this verse teaches us, to pray without ceasing. Pray when things are going badly as well as when things are going well. Above all, pray with confidence that God will work on your behalf.

A habit of prayer can be broken when something unexpected happens as an attitude becomes even stronger. I therefore urge you today to develop an attitude of prayer, which will help you lead a life pleasing to God.
