He must pay for that lamb four times over,
because he did such a thing and had no pity.
2 Samuel 12:6 (NIV)
Have you ever blamed and condemned others for your own mistake? Something is happening because of you, you don't know it and when it is pointed out to you, instead of trying to understand, you start blaming and criticizing without knowing that the fault comes from you. This is exactly what happened to David after hearing Nathan's story.
As king, David had the privilege of having any other woman in the kingdom as his wife. However, to satisfy his personal desires, he chose to have Uri killed to hide his sin and then marry his wife. Not understanding Nathan's story, David wanted the culprit to be punished. But he didn't know that the thief Nathan was talking about was him.
Before blaming others, always try to take the time to analyze the situation. Not because you yourself are guilty, but because, like others, you can also make the same mistake. Instead of condemning your brother in faith, pray for him, exhort him, encourage him, advise him so as not to find yourself in the same situation as David. Learn to intercede with God for the forgiveness of others instead of deciding their punishment.
May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
