Lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go on dry ground through the sea.
Exodus 14:16 (RSV)
Many fervent and zealous Christians in ministry make the mistake of not acting in faith. I would even say a huge mistake. They may fast for days, praying for hours to God to intervene on their behalf. Yet, when the time comes to exercise their faith and power to allow God to manifest Himself through them, they recoil and doubt their ability and His will.
The Bible is full of men and women of faith who pray to God and act when their participation in the fulfillment of His will is required. Faced with the dilemma of the Red Sea, Moses, although aware that God could do everything without him, understood that he himself had a role to play in this chapter of Israel's history. The people were trapped between the sea and Pharaoh's pursuing army; a miracle was needed to free them. Moses did exactly as God asked, without question or doubt.
Have you ever doubted your faith or God's power within you to accomplish something? Know that while God can do everything Himself, His desire to use us for His glory may lead Him to grant you the privilege of acting on His behalf. If your child is sick, He may ask you to lay hands on them and exercise your faith to heal them. Don't be afraid of what God will do; as soon as He inspires you to act, don't question your abilities or His will, but trust Him.
May God's grace and peace be with you all.
