Don't Wait For Tomorrow

Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You [a]in a time when You may be found; Certainly in a flood of great waters, they will not reach him.

Psalm 32:6 (9NASB)

I remember when I first read this verse, even though the second part of the verse gave me the answer, I wondered if there was a specific time to pray or to find God. I asked myself this question a lot. But, when I considered the way David approached God in every situation he faced, even with his sins, I understood that it was never a matter of exact time to find God but rather from our inclination to seek Him with all our heart at all times.

You will notice that David introduces this chapter with the remission of transgressions and the happiness of one whom God has forgiven. For him, the time for forgiveness was now because he knew that his sin had distanced him from God and could cause him to lose His favor. What you need to understand is that when you sin, you should not wait days or months to confess, you should do it immediately, while God is still near you to listen to you. The longer you wait, the further your sin will distance you from Him.

I don't think David was directly referring to the many waters like in Noah's day, rather I believe he was talking about the pain, sorrow and anguish his sin brought him. He tells us in verse 4 that he no longer had his strength and, in verse 5, he confessed his fault to God to finally be at peace. In your case, God is waiting for you to confess your faults to Him. He wants to forgive you now, while you were moaning. Don't wait until tomorrow because tomorrow may be too late.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
