“How do I get out of this?” This is a question we often ask ourselves when we make bad decisions or take bad actions that have disastrous consequences in our lives or in the lives of others. Even when we believe in God's grace and love, we sometimes believe that He won't intervene, especially when we find ourselves stuck in the middle of the mess we've gotten ourselves into.
We have several examples in the Bible of men who made decisions that had horrible consequences. Yet in their despair, they turned to God to forgive and deliver them. Some paid dearly for their mistake, but others saw God's grace manifest in their lives as if they had never done anything wrong. We have Jacob, David and Abraham as examples. What must be understood is that of the two results, they all confessed their sin and recognized that only GOD can get them out of their mess.
This is a life lesson that we must learn from these men. They were not using God's grace as a cover for sin or to live as they pleased, they recognized their weaknesses and capacity to sin. This is why they believed that God who had begun to work in them would not stop. Today, you have the opportunity to do the same thing to get yourself out of your mess. Humbly turn to God for forgiveness and deliverance.
