She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.
Proverbs 31:27-28 (NIV)
God values the role and responsibility of women within the family. While some consider their household chores a mere obligation, God sees in them courage, determination, and unwavering devotion to their families. The book of Proverbs highlights the attitude of a virtuous woman. Her virtue far surpasses that of those who take advantage of life and believe that their status as a woman entitles them to their husband's attention without any effort.
The author of this chapter provides us with all the necessary elements to recognize a virtuous woman among those who claim to be so. Her husband is very proud of her, her children feel secure and show her their affection. Joy and happiness reign in her home. Even her neighbors, witnesses to this situation, can attest to the love and stability she brings. Never underestimate the efforts of a woman who dedicates herself entirely to her family. For God Himself exalts her.
We all know that household chores, on top of maternal responsibilities, are no small feat. Sometimes, they can even be daunting. That's why, through this author's words, God wanted to emphasize all that this entails, praising the value of wives and mothers who shoulder their responsibilities. Beyond her faith and virtue, God takes into account her responsibilities as homemaker. When your wife dedicates herself fully to household tasks to provide for her family and make them happy, your support demonstrates your appreciation.
May God's grace and peace be with you.
