Like a Mother

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

When a child takes their first steps, we all know they will inevitably fall at first. Although mothers are aware of this reality, unlike fathers, they tend to overprotect their child. This protection isn't meant to prevent the child from falling; they know that falling is part of learning balance. Rather, it's about protecting them from painful injuries or shocks, because they can't bear to see their child suffer due to what they perceive as their own negligence.

This same dynamic between a mother and her child also exists between God and us. When we go through life's trials, God always watches over us to protect us from falling into harm's way, but He allows us to stumble because He knows that it is through these trials that we grow in faith and perseverance. Often, we think He doesn't see us. Yet, it is His protection that saves us from the worst without us even realizing it.

Paul knew that God pays special attention to the journey of His children. That is why he affirms that all things work together for the good of those who love God. Most Christians who have gone through difficult trials always testify to God's greatness after overcoming them. You may feel alone in the wilderness of difficulties right now, but rest assured that God is watching over you. Like a mother who holds the hand of her child learning to walk, God also holds yours. If He lets you stumble, it is because He knows you will get through it. He always has a plan for your deliverance.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
