Living in the Love of God

Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Jude 21 (NIV)

Whoever believes in Jesus Christ and is convinced that salvation is found in no one else but Him is saved and will inherit eternal life, which God promises to those who believe. In this sense, the believer does not need to strive or offer sacrifices to preserve their salvation. They are secure in Jesus Christ. However, there is an important aspect that they must not neglect: "living in the love of God."

We often wonder what it means to live or abide in the love of God. Some will say that it is not difficult at all; it is simply a matter of reading the Bible, being part of a Christian assembly that teaches biblical doctrines, and participating in a dynamic ministry. They are completely wrong. Living in the love of God means dedicating oneself to the study of the Word, living in obedience to its precepts, spending time in prayer, and allowing oneself to be guided by the Holy Spirit.

Wouldn't you say that this is still simple? Just follow these points, and everything would be perfect. In reality, all of this implies the necessity of setting oneself apart for God. This is the process of sanctification. The more you live in this state, the closer you draw to God and the more you develop a personal relationship with Him. Therefore, the only way to abide in the love of God is to please Him by obeying His precepts. Immerse yourself in the love of God, and He will guide your steps.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
