Pay Attention

Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.

Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV)

God promises to answer our prayers when we cry out to Him. He says He will not hesitate to help us when we confide our concerns to Him. The Bible is full of such promises. But there is a part of this promise we ignore. When God says He will answer our prayers, it doesn't mean He will simply grant us what we ask for and be done with it. If that were the case, we would not benefit from His blessings.

More often than not, God gives us more than we ask for. Sometimes we don't even understand His answer, we say He doesn't even hear us. This is completely false. When we pray to God, we ask Him for what we believe is good for us, but knowing our needs, He gives us an answer that is contrary to what we ask for. When God doesn't give us something, it doesn't mean He isn't listening to our prayers. Often, He reveals to us things far greater than we expected.

When you pray, remember that you are in the presence of a God who cares far more about you than your personal desires. He sees beyond your expectations and knows better than you what will work for you in your situation. Don't focus solely on the object of your request; pay attention to His voice, for His response may not be to grant your request, but to reveal Himself to you in order to prepare you for something better than you can imagine.

May God's grace and peace be with you all.
