Sharing in the Lives of Others

Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.

Romans 12:15 (ESV)

A phrase I learned in my childhood is, "Life gives nothing for free." This is a truth for some and a misconception for others. Everyone will interpret it according to the situations or opportunities in their lives. Those who agree are the ones who work hard to succeed or who struggle to maintain balance in their lives. But those who disagree are the ones who have almost everything at their disposal or who know how to seize opportunities without hesitation.

Whether people are suffering or succeeding, our true attitude should be to support and encourage them. On the one hand, when we see someone suffering, we shouldn't focus on what life gives or doesn't give, but open our hearts to give them what they lack, for that is what Jesus would do without hesitation. On the other hand, when we see others succeeding, we must encourage and guide them on their path so that they do not stumble. A person whose life is progressing becomes more vulnerable to the temptations of the world.

This heartfelt description I have just shared with you is part of the joy we share with those who rejoice, and also the tears we shed with those who weep. It is a reality that goes beyond the strong emotions we feel in the situations of others; rather, it is the action we take to help each other move forward. When a person is hungry, you give them food; when they are thirsty, you give them something to drink. Similarly, when they are moving forward and progressing, you show them the right path and continue to instill in them the truth of Jesus Christ so that they do not go astray. So be ready to share in the lives of others; it is the best way to make them feel your presence.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
