For I am the Lord, your God, who grasp your right hand; It is I who say to you, Do not fear, I will help you.
Isaiah 41:13 (NABRE)
When Moses first met God, he found so many reasons and excuses to refuse God’s mission to go to Pharaoh to deliver Israel that God’s anger was kindled against him (Exodus 4:14). However, after his personal experience with God and all the exploits he saw, his position and attitude greatly changed to the point of pleading his case before God to ensure His continued presence (Exodus 33:12-18).
We have all gone through this path of doubt and fear at the very beginning of our relationship with God. We question His salvation, His grace, and His love toward us. We refuse to believe in His forgiveness, and we even reject the gift of the Holy Spirit within us. It is only after years of experiences that we truly begin to open our hearts to God and seek His face.
The good news is that God does not change, He knows our reactions and negative attitudes. He knows what we are going to say or do. That is why He strengthens us with the Holy Spirit and protects us with His right hand. God knows your weaknesses, but just as He gave Moses the strength to overcome his fear, He will do the same for you. He is God and He will always come to your rescue, whether you feel strong or weak.
May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
