Wait on the Lord

The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in Him.

The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him.

Lamentations 3:24-25 (KJV)

When you pray to God for something, you expect it to happen immediately, exactly as you want it to, because He has promised to take care of you. Make no mistake, God does not work like we do. Although He will come to your rescue, He will not bow to your spiritual emotions or fear of failure. He sees your situation, He knows it better than you do, and He will do what is necessary. He expects you to seek Him rather than the solution to your problems.

You must know that God never makes mistakes.

• He makes no mistakes in His decision to answer your prayers or not.

• He makes no mistakes in the way He answers you, even if you do not like it.

• He makes no mistakes in the timing of His answer, even if it upsets you.

The reason He makes no mistakes in what He does is because He is a perfect God.

• Even if He takes three to five years to answer you, His timing is perfect.

• You pray for healing, He gives you His grace, His decision is perfect.

• He chooses to do nothing and say nothing, His silence is perfect.

When it comes to caring for His children, God cares for them every day. He does not work on a monthly budget or a yearly calendar to answer prayers. He provides for you according to the desires of His heart and the plan He has for you each day. If God poured out His goodness and mercy on you this morning as Jeremiah suggests in the previous verse, tomorrow He will pour out His goodness and mercy again, and even more, regardless of the day after. The most important thing in all of this is that each day has its dose of goodness, its dose of mercy and blessings. Wait on the Lord and seek His face.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
