What Would You Trust?

Will you trust him because his strength is great?

Or will you leave your labor to him?

Job 39:11 (NKJV)

Trials are not always easy to go through, especially when we see no way out and every effort we make drags us deeper into difficulty. It is like walking out of a dark room and into another without ever seeing the light of day. Job found himself in a similar situation. His pain was not really what he was experiencing, but rather the reason he had to go through this trial. He was convinced that his life was in harmony with God and that he was honoring Him as he should.

Job complained to God for several days. His friends slandered him and made him feel guilty, making him believe that his situation was the result of a sin he had committed even without knowing it. We all cross this bridge at one point or another in our lives. When God finally opened His mouth to speak, He did not blame Job or give him reasons or excuses, but rather questioned him about what Job could not understand on his own.

Among all His questions God took the buffalo as a strong and useful animal to ask Job if he would trust it for its strength and if he would count on it to accomplish all his work. This same question is addressed to you today in another context: would you trust the possessions you possess, would you count on their material value to help you in your situation? God had taken everything Job had to remove any possibility of finding a solution. Instead of trusting your relationships and your means, trust God to deliver you.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
