When God Is Silent

The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.
Proverbs 15:29 (ESV)
God's promises are immutable. When He says He will do something, He will never fail to keep His word. If you sometimes doubt His promises, it's because you don't fully trust Him; you focus much more on what you want than on what He wants to give you. I'm sure you sometimes say that God doesn't see you or hear your prayers because of your sins or a particular sin you have committed.
If this is the case for you, know that your sin does not prevent you from being righteous in God's eyes. It is a decision He made Himself, regardless of your sin. He does not look at you as you are, but in Jesus Christ, He has sanctified you, and that is what He sees when He looks at you. Therefore, His promise to hear the prayers of the righteous does not exclude you. For God, the wicked are not always those who do evil, but those who reject the grace He grants us in His Son.
Be assured, God hears all prayers, even those of the wicked, except that He chooses which ones He will answer immediately and which ones will have to wait a little longer. Have faith in God and His promises. Sometimes, His silence can also be the answer to your prayer, even if you don't see it that way. When you are confused and don't know what to do because you are waiting for God's answer before acting, ask Him to reveal His will to you. When God takes time with His answers, He often comforts us and gives us a word of encouragement. He will not leave you in doubt.
May God's grace and peace be with you all.
