Who Cares?

For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state.

Philippians 2:20 (NKJV)

We live in an era where we can unequivocally state that tomorrow is uncertain. Governments declare war upon one another for no valid reason. We even find ourselves wondering if we are not living in the End Times—that period of which Jesus said that, when we saw war, we would know that the day is near. Some sleep fitfully, their hearts heavy with anxiety, in case the worst should come to pass. It is enough to make one wonder if there is truly anyone who cares about us.

Today’s world is broken and in need of restoration. We long to find peace and to be able to breathe in joy. If the world’s leaders seem indifferent to the state of the planet, rest assured that there is Someone who *does* care about you. His name is Jesus. He bore the cross for you and willingly died for your sins. You might think that He takes no interest in what is happening in the world. That would be a mistake! He lived in this world; He endured the indignities of this world. Consequently, He knows the wickedness of the human heart.

It is natural to question what is happening around you; know, however, that Jesus takes your situation to heart and that He will care for you when misfortune strikes. You can trust Him and place yourself in His hands without any worry. The world may not share your feelings of anxiety and fear, but Jesus Himself takes them upon Himself, so that you need no longer be troubled. Do not let yourself be intimidated by what you see unfolding; instead, be at peace—for that is what Christ asks you to do, even in the very heart of danger.

May the grace and peace of God be with you.
