For the Homeless and the Oppressed
Lord, we carry in our hearts those who have nowhere to lay their heads at night: for the person on the street corner, the family living in a car, and the child sleeping in a shelter. May they find warmth in the cold, shade in the heat, and a path toward a safe and stable home. Grant them the dignity they deserve and the strength to endure the weariness of wandering.
We do not forget those whose voices have been silenced and whose rights have been trampled upon. We pray for those trapped by systemic injustice, unjust working conditions, or the chains of poverty. May heavy yokes be lifted and broken systems be repaired. May justice flow forth like living water, bringing equity to the marginalized and hope to weary hearts.
Open our eyes, that we may see the humanity in every stranger. Lead us beyond mere pity, toward true solidarity. Soften our hearts where they have hardened, and strengthen our resolve to build a world where "home" is a reality for everyone, and where "freedom" is not a privilege, but a right.
It is in Jesus' name that we pray.
Amen.
