Words of Prayer: 04/26/26

For Pastors and Church Leaders:

Lord, we come before You this Sunday to pray for church leaders. May those who exercise leadership receive a clear vision and a heart filled with discernment. Faced with complex decisions and the diverse needs of their community, grant them the peace of mind necessary to hear that "still, small voice" that guides them. May their words be imbued with grace and their actions rooted in integrity.

We acknowledge the exhaustion that often accompanies service. For the weary pastor and the exhausted leader, may they find a "Sabbath rest" for their own souls. Protect them from burnout and from the weight of bearing the burdens of others. Remind them that they do not have to be everything to everyone, and that their worth lies in who they are, not solely in what they do.

Guard their hearts, as well as their families. Surround them with a caring community—friends and mentors capable of offering them the same counsel and care that they so generously lavish upon others. May they find safe spaces where they can be vulnerable, ask their questions, and draw upon renewed strength.

Keep alive the flame of their original calling. May they lead with humility, always remembering that true authority lies in service. May their lives reflect the compassion they preach, and may they find their joy in the transformation of the lives they touch.
