Your Love for God

That they would seek God, if perhaps they might feel around for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.

Acts 17:27 (NASB)

God created us for His glory; He created us in His image so that we could represent Him on earth and reflect His character. Unfortunately, by sinning, we lost this extraordinary divine privilege. Although we disappointed Him, it wasn't a true disappointment for God, because in His foreknowledge, He knew what would happen to us. He could have prevented it, but He chose to establish a plan of redemption and salvation for us, which He accomplished through His Son, Jesus Christ.

God's plan of salvation also included our need for His presence and favor. Since the beginning of time, God has never forced anyone to serve Him, so no one can say they didn't have a choice. He has never demanded anything from anyone, so no one can say that it came from them. God has always given us the choice because He wants us to love Him with all our heart, soul, and strength. By loving Him in this way, we will seek Him and will always need His guidance in our lives.

You may not realize it, but you need God to move forward in your life. But He doesn't need you to accomplish His will. However, you are made in His image, created to fulfill a divine purpose. This purpose is the desire of His heart that He has placed within you, which means you cannot accomplish it without His help. Remember, it's not what you do for God that will please Him. Rather, it is your need for His constant presence that will draw Him to you, for He is never far from you.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
