Your Place Awaits You

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out...

Acts 3:19 (NKJV)

When God makes a promise, He always keeps it. He is unchanging and will never deceive us by making us believe in things that will never come to pass. The only condition He sets for His promises to be fulfilled in our lives is our participation in the implementation of His plan. God does not ask you to act to earn what He has promised, but He does ask you to understand your position as a sinner and to accept the grace offered to you in His promises.

Your participation in God's plan boils down to your faith in Jesus Christ. Your faith in Christ is not the act of salvation itself, for Jesus already accomplished that by accepting death on the cross, bearing the condemnation you deserved because of your sins. Your faith is your way of acknowledging that you truly deserved that condemnation because you are a sinner. Thus, since He took your place by becoming the condemned one, if you repent of your sins and come to Him, you will receive God's promise.

Another way to understand this reality is to accept that, without Christ, your sins will not be forgiven. Therefore, you will not benefit from God's promise and you will not know His salvation. Since God will always keep His promise to you, I encourage you to actively participate in the cleansing of your sins. Repent of your sins, come to Jesus who made this promise possible. A new life awaits you; don't let it slip away, for you too have a place in this plan.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
