The evil spirit answered them, “I know Jesus, and I recognize Paul—but who are you?”
Acts 19:15 (HCSB)
When the evil spirit says he knows Jesus, he is expressing a continuity in his knowledge of Him. It is as if he wanted to say: “I have known Jesus from ancient times until today. I know him by experience and by facts.” For Paul, he means: "I know what he does and also by what power he is doing it; I know that he was called and anointed by God to do it." But you?
This verse brings me to Matthew 7 verse 23 where Jesus says, "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity [KJV]." This means that if Jesus does not know you, it is normal that Satan does not know you either. For those who have responded to God's grace bear upon them the seal of the Holy Spirit. Satan cannot fail to recognize them.
My question for you today, "Are you one of those whom Satan will ask: And you, who are you or those whose faith and sanctification he cannot deny because he sees in you the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit?" Whatever your answer, I urge you to follow Paul's example as he did for Christ. So when you have to face Satan, he will know that you are the Lord's anointed to the point of not daring to stand in your way but to flee from you.
