Clothe Yourself in Christ

Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Colossians 3:12 (NLT)

As the saying goes, the habit does not make the monk but it identifies to which category the monk belongs. When we go to church, we know what clothes we should wear, and when we go to a restaurant, we have another outfit, a little more casual, depending on the place. Anyone looking at us can easily tell the difference between the two. It is the same for those who are in Christ Jesus.

In this verse, Paul commands us to dress properly, meaning that as Christians we are to represent Jesus Christ our savior among other nations. Live as he lived, Be an example to those who watch us. Paul is not talking about how we dress for church, but about the compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience that was in Christ. Which is proof of who we are in Christ.

This is not something we can do ourselves. These attitudes will reveal themselves in us when we allow the Holy Spirit to take control of our thinking and attitude. When we live in obedience to the word, the Holy Spirit works through us in ways that reveal to others that we are children of God and disciples of Christ. Together, let's show the world the beauty of Christ by dressing in the way that pleases Him.

May the grace and the peace of God be with you all.
