Casting all your care on Him, because He cares about you.
1 Peter 5:7 (HCSB)
The mistake many Christians make is saying they have faith and trust in God, but are never able to demonstrate it in real life. There is a reason for this: they have faith in what they think God should do for them but not in God Himself who says He will do it. They interpret God's promises according to the desire of their hearts or according to the degree of tension of the situation they face. In a certain sense, they believe in faith but they don't have faith.
The Bible tells us in Romans 10:7: "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ." Which means that to have faith in God, you must know the word of God. To know the word of God is to have full knowledge of what God reveals to us. What He says is what He will do. So we must believe in what He says and not in what we want Him to do in the way we want.
In today's verse, Peter tells us two things. First, to cast all our worries on God. Second, God will take care of us Himself. However, he did not say that God would carry out our requests as we want. I would like to tell you this, to have faith in God is to believe that He knows your needs better than you, that He knows how to respond to them and that He will respond to them as He sees fit for you. Trust Him without doubting His abilities to care for you as He promises.
May the grace of God be with you all.
