And the pride of Israel testifies to his face, But they do not return to the Lord their God, Nor seek Him for all this.
Hosea 7:10 (NKJV)
The book of Hosea tells us about the unfaithfulness of the people of Israel to the Lord. God used Hosea's marriage to show his people what was happening in their relationship with Him. His wife left him to find another man, when God should have punished her for what she did to God's prophet in the eyes of the people, God tells Hosea to go get his wife from her lover and love her with all his heart.
What is profound in this story is God's love for His people, God's love for you and me. How many times have we sinned against God? How many times have we left God's way to find better somewhere else because He takes time to answer our prayers? But despite everything, He continues to love us, to seek us and to grant us His forgiveness. Isn't that a magnificent God that you serve?
Hosea could rebel against God to ask Him to love his adulterous wife without reservation, but probably because he understood the dimension of God's love for His people through his situation, he chose to respond positively to God's request. God does not look at you and does not treat you according to your sins, He has already solved this problem on the cross. None of your sins can make you lose the grace of God, so do not move away from Him, because He will always find you out of love for you.
May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
