We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you.

One of the things I would like to bring to your attention is the reason for the resistance. It was not to prove or convince anyone of the value of the gospel, because those who heard it were saved, but rather to preserve it among believers. This shows us that the threats were always there from the days of the apostles
This is a truth that cannot be ignored as many try to twist the truth of the gospel to impose their doctrine. This causes confusion, fear and sometimes abandonment of faith. As the author says, it was not only him who resisted but "We". Which means many of them have come together to protect the foundation of their faith.
So today I encourage you to do the same, to fight to protect this truth that helps us keep our faith intact and lead others to Christ. However, we cannot resist false teachings to protect the truth if we do not know it. This is why it is important to devote time to the word for the truth may dwell in us, so that the Holy Spirit reveals to us the way to follow to safeguard the gospel.
