Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!
Psalm 105:4 (NKJV)
Jesus said that the first and greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Even before Jesus said that, we see in the Psalms an encouragement to seek the Lord. The Lord longs for us to seek His face no matter the season, occasion or situation.
The very act of seeking God is to honor Him, giving Him rightful place as Lord of our lives. It also enables us to live for His purposes. We seek the Lord when we desire to honor Him with all of our lives. The way to gain an increase of spiritual strength is to seek the Lord by praying and studying Scripture.
We are to seek the Lord himself, not for what God can do for us, but for who He is. Seeking God presence is an unremitting desire we will never have enough.
Today, take time to seek the Lord’s face, give thanks to Him for giving you strength always in time of need, give Him praise and worship Him for being so good to you.
