Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
Romans 5:3-4 (NIV)
We often brag about our faith in God. We say we trust His promises, knowing He will never let us down. Some of us, when the first trial comes, without seeking God's guidance, begin to question His intentions and blame Him. Have you ever found yourself in such a situation? So know that you are not alone.
This verse from Paul gives us an idea of what the Christians of his time were going through. Undoubtedly, many of them were afraid of the circumstances and questioned God's intention. We can even say that some have abandoned their faith. It is no doubt for this reason that he spoke these words of comfort and encouragement.
Whatever situation you face today, don't think you are the only one because God has abandoned you. We all have to go through difficult times that we call trials. It is these trials that can strengthen our faith and bring us closer to God. Do not be afraid for, as Paul said, these trials will produce in you perseverance, character and ultimately the hope of eternal glory.
