For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 (NASB)
We often hear Christians say that they don't believe in Christmas. Their reason is that it is a pagan holiday created by non-Christians, they do not want to participate in this celebration. Some base their decision on their religion, others do it because of their faith. We absolutely cannot oppose their position, they have the right to think as they wish.
However, if there is one group of people who should celebrate Christmas, it is Christians themselves. The reason we celebrate Christmas is what it actually means to us. We do not celebrate a date or a day because no one knows the exact date but we celebrate the birth of our savior. As Christians, followers of Christ, this is what makes this holiday season important to us. Let's not look at why the pagans decided to reject such an event. Let us instead focus on the grace given to us in the person of Jesus.
If for some reason you have decided to reject Christmas for a worldly cause, give yourself the fundamental reason why Christmas should be a good time to celebrate and rejoice. Always remember that Jesus is the reason for your celebration, rejoice.
May the grace and the peace of God be with you all.
